Welcome

to the February issue of Ballincollig Health & Wellbeing; our first issue of 2019. Spring is not far away as we see the buds appearing on the trees and even some daffodils waking up; you might have seen them coming into Ballincollig from Carrigrohane Straight side. They are so beautiful; our town is a credit to the amazing work of Ballincollig Tidy Towns.

I was once told that the Spring of the year is a very important time for self-care; we are emerging from the winter, very often feeling depleted and tired, and quite possibly coming out the other side of winter bugs and illness. and so, must invest some time in ourselves to rebuild our energy and resilience. In response to this and overlapping with the month of love, we want to share with you some information on how to show yourself some love, care and kindness. Check out our Self-Care feature on Page starting on page 7.

A huge thank you also to Jen and Niall O Callaghan, from EverydayNFW, for being our cover feature this month. I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing Jen and Niall for 2 years now, since the creation of the magazine. I love their work; they have such great integrity, professionalism, genuine care for their clients and their passion is contagious. They were behind Vigour, the amazing health and wellness day held in the Regional Park, in 2017: with which I was delighted to be asked to help. They have amazing ideas and are constantly creating new ways of offering the best health and wellbeing help and strategies to the community. Read all about their journey on page 3.

As always, we hope you are enjoying and benefiting from your monthly, local health and wellbeing magazine. We strive to bring you the best information we can across a broad range of areas. The team here at the magazine are fantastic; and driven by their passion for creating a positive difference in people’s lives. If you ever feel you need a little help, with anything, just get in touch. That is what we are here for; for YOU!
